Plan Your Visit

Your first escape starts here.

Never done an escape room? You're in the right place. Here's exactly how it works, who it's for, and everything to sort before you walk through the vault door in downtown Portland.

How It Works

Four steps to game time.

No escape-room experience required. Book it, show up early, get your briefing, and beat the clock — your game master has your back the whole way.

Pick a room and a time

Choose one of our five rooms by theme and difficulty, then grab an open slot online. Every booking is private — it's just your group in the room, never strangers. Two to eight players fit most rooms; if you're unsure, book for your max and trim later.

Arrive 15 minutes early

Show up a quarter-hour before your start time. That's when we check you in, take a group photo, stash your coats and bags in a locker, and run your game master briefing. Late arrivals eat into your 60 minutes — the clock is fixed to keep the next group on schedule.

Get your briefing

Your dedicated game master sets the scene, explains the safety basics, and hands you the story hook. No prior experience needed — they walk first-timers through exactly how clues, locks, and hints work before the door closes.

Beat the clock

Sixty minutes on the timer. Search everything, talk out loud, and use your free hints when you're stuck — asking for help is part of the game, not a penalty. Escape or not, you'll finish with a photo and bragging rights. Then celebrate in the lounge.

Good to know

  • Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes — there's crouching, searching, and light movement, but nothing physically strenuous.
  • No escape-room experience required. Medium rooms like The Bank Heist and Spy Agency are built for first-timers.
  • Ages 13+; players 13–17 need an adult in the same booking. Haunted Manor is best for 16+ (theatrical scares).
  • Hints are free and unlimited — your game master watches live and nudges you when you're stuck.
  • Restrooms, lockers, and a lounge are on site. Leave phones in the locker so nobody's tempted to Google a puzzle.
  • We're at 340 SW Morrison St, Suite 100, Portland, OR 97204 in downtown Portland — street parking plus the SmartPark garage a block away, and a short walk from the MAX and streetcar.

Group options

  • Date night for two — a private room any evening of the week, easy to add wine and dessert in the lounge.
  • Birthday parties — reserve a room plus lounge time; groups of 8+ get a 15% discount and a custom in-game shoutout.
  • Corporate team building — book multiple rooms at once for teams of 8–50, with a facilitator debrief on request.
  • Bachelor / bachelorette and friend groups — high-energy rooms like Prison Break fit the full 8 players.
  • First-timers and families — tell us your group and we'll match you to the right difficulty so everyone has fun.
  • Gift cards — not sure which room? Give the experience and let them choose their own adventure.

FAQ

Before you book.

I've never done an escape room. Is it beginner-friendly?

Completely. An escape room is a live, hands-on game where your group searches a themed set, solves puzzles, and finds combinations to unlock the next stage — all inside 60 minutes. Your game master gives a full briefing first and offers free hints throughout, so nobody gets truly stuck. Start with a Medium room like The Bank Heist or Spy Agency, which are designed with first-timers in mind.

How many people do we need, and can strangers join our game?

Our rooms fit 2 to 8 players and every booking is private — it's only ever your group, never strangers dropped in with you. Two players can escape a room, but 3–6 is the sweet spot for most groups: enough hands to search and enough minds to solve without crowding. If you have a big crew, several rooms can run at the same time.

What time should we arrive?

Please arrive 15 minutes before your booked start time. That window covers check-in, lockers for your coats and bags, a group photo, and your game master briefing. Your 60-minute timer starts at your scheduled slot to keep the day on schedule, so arriving late shortens your game rather than pushing everyone back.

What should we wear and bring?

Wear comfortable clothes and closed-toe shoes. There's some crouching, reaching, and searching, but nothing physically demanding — no climbing or heavy lifting. Leave valuables at home if you can; we provide lockers for phones, keys, and bags. Phones stay in the locker during the game so the temptation to search for answers doesn't spoil the fun.

Where are you located and where do we park?

We're at 340 SW Morrison St, Suite 100, Portland, OR 97204, right in downtown Portland. There's metered street parking out front and a SmartPark garage one block away, plus we're a short walk from the MAX light rail and the Portland Streetcar. Give yourself a couple of extra minutes to park downtown so you still hit that 15-minutes-early mark.

How do we book, and can we reserve the whole venue?

Book online in a couple of minutes — pick your room, date, and time, and you're set. For birthdays, corporate events, or groups that want several rooms at once (or a full private buyout for 20+), start the booking form and tell us your group size and occasion, or call us at (503) 555-0167 and we'll build the visit around you.

Your 60 minutes starts now.

Pick a room, a night and a group size — we confirm your slot within a few hours. Rooms run 7 days a week and Friday and Saturday evenings go first.
